Prolapse of the uterus after childbirth

No matter how much you are convinced that having a child makes a woman look younger, you should not expect that you will become more attractive and healthier immediately after pregnancy and childbirth. Pregnancy and childbirth – it's a huge strain on the body, and if you haven't prepared for it in advance, haven't exercised, haven't taken vitamins, there's a high probability that you'll face a problem such as vaginal and uterine prolapse.

Why is this happening?

During pregnancy, a woman's body undergoes dramatic changes: hormonal levels change, and all organs and systems begin to work under double strain. The uterus grows, and the ligaments that hold it in place and the tendons of the perineal muscles become loose and flexible – this is necessary to ensure the mobility of the uterus during pregnancy and, when the time comes, «skip» outside of the baby being born.
After childbirth, the uterine muscles begin to contract and it decreases in size, returning to its pre-pregnancy size in about eight weeks.
The ligaments of the uterus do not have the ability to contract, it takes time for them to shorten, therefore, in the postpartum period the uterus «floats» in a free state, trying to move downwards in the direction of the exit from the vagina.
During childbirth, the perineal muscles participate in the formation of the birth canal; they stretch, often become injured and torn.
Postpartum weakness of the pelvic floor muscles and uterine ligaments – the cause of vaginal and uterine prolapse in new mothers.
