How to Regain Orgasm? Anorgasmia and Its Treatment
Did you know that most women don't experience orgasm at the beginning of their sexual lives, and that's normal? The ability to achieve maximum satisfaction comes later, with experience. For some, this happens quite quickly, while for others, the path to bliss drags on for a long time, if not forever.
Some women only begin to truly enjoy sex after childbirth, while others, on the contrary, lose the ability to experience sexual pleasure after giving birth. How can you learn to enjoy sex? How can you regain your orgasm?
What is the danger of not having an orgasm?
The absence of orgasm is medically known as anorgasmia and is considered a painful condition. Even if intercourse is accompanied by pleasurable sensations but orgasm does not occur, it is still a problem. Over time, the lack of release can lead to neurosis and even depression, decreased libido, and complete abstinence from intimacy. If intercourse is initially accompanied by pain, the process progresses even more rapidly.
From a medical perspective, a woman's lack of orgasm can cause congestion in the genitals, which increases the risk of developing pelvic varicose veins, inflammation, ovarian dysfunction, and infertility.
Types and causes of anorgasmia
- Primary anorgasmia, that is, the absence of orgasm from the very beginning of sexual activity, is most often associated with psychological causes, strict upbringing, complexes, anomalies in the development of the genitals, vaginismus, and sexual infantilism.
- Secondary anorgasmia can occur for a number of reasons:
- Causes not related to illness: fear of pregnancy, past violence, lack of emotional intimacy, sexual pathology in the partner, interrupted intercourse, lack of foreplay, improper choice of positions, and much more.
- Somatic and neurological diseases, such as nerve damage, cardiovascular pathology, neuroses, depression, etc.
- Gynecological diseases accompanied by pain syndrome are most often chronic inflammatory processes and endometriosis.
- Prolapse of the genitals, accompanied weakness of the pelvic floor muscles and the lack of tight adhesion of the vaginal walls to the penis.
- Postpartum condition, characterized by decreased tone of the vaginal and perineal muscles and decreased sensitivity of the genitals.
Treating anorgasmia with ColpoTrain vaginal cones®
Treatment of postpartum anorgasmia and anorgasmia associated with prolapse of the genitals primarily includes pelvic muscle training using the Kegel technique and/or the ColpoTrain vaginal trainer®.
What does it take to achieve orgasm?
- Sensual connection and trusting relationship with a partner.
- Absence of fear and distractions.
- Natural androgenic background responsible for a woman's sexuality.
- Normal reactivity of the nervous system, that is, the absence of the inhibitory effects of alcohol, medications or excessive fatigue.
- Having experience with masturbation, that is, knowledge of one’s own body and its erogenous zones.
- Foreplay should last at least 15 minutes.
- Coitus for more than 10 minutes.
If, despite meeting these conditions, orgasm still does not occur, it is time to take action.
Treatment of anorgasmia
After examination and exclusion of situational causes of anorgasmia, treatment can begin.
Psychological problems are addressed by a psychotherapist or sexologist. Psychotherapy, hypnosis, autogenic training, vibration massage, electrical stimulation, tranquilizers, stimulants, and antidepressants may be required—it all depends on the nature and severity of the disorder.
Somatic and gynecological diseases that can make it difficult to achieve orgasm must be treated or at least put into remission.
Hormonal imbalances are corrected through hormone therapy – this should be discussed with your gynecologist. Defects in the structure of the genitals are corrected through surgery.
Exercises with a weight trainer are aimed at increasing the tone of intimate muscles, reducing vaginal volume, and increasing the intensity of contact with the partner's penis.
Cone training ColpoTrain® allow you to learn the art of controlling your intimate muscles and thereby expand the range of your own sexual sensations up to achieving orgasm.
